Mary Anne Cecutti
Secretary

I have been involved with the Trillium Chapter for the past 12 years having served 2 terms as a Director and now entering my second term as Secretary. I am also Board Liaison for Industry Partners. This committee is responsible for connecting our Vendor sponsors with the membership and making sure everyone has fun doing it.

On the career front my experiences have focused on the clinical laboratory and regulated health care environment. I have worked with QSE Consulting Inc as a Senior Consultant since 2001 and successfully managed projects for community and teaching hospitals; private laboratories; provincial government Ministries of Health; as well as government agencies and professional organizations. In 2005 I co-founded Executive Edge – Innovations in Laboratory Medicine for Lab Leaders together with Sheila Woodcock of QSE and Robert Michel of the Dark Report to bring the best and the brightest minds in the industry from Canada and around the world to the Canadian laboratory community.

Membership in the CLMA and particularly being on the Board of the Trillium Chapter has not only allowed me to maintain professional and personal connections I have made over my long and varied career in the industry but also make new ones. It has given me the opportunity to participate in some excellent professional development activities both locally and in the US; hear the industry news first; be part of discussion and resolution of issues facing the industry; and grow as a professional. I look forward to continuing my role as Secretary of the Trillium Chapter.

While completing her Masters, Judy was selected to be one of the founding editors for the Journal of Public Policy, Administration and Law, an interdisciplinary journal, which encourages students, public servants and scholars to share knowledge and research concerning public policy, administration and law issues.

Her diverse background includes experience in the biotech sector, community, hospital, public health and research laboratory settings. Judy was the recipient of the Ontario government’s ACE Award, in the Outstanding Achievement category, for the development and implementation of a province wide standardized quality system in its twelve Public Health Laboratories.

Judy also has a keen interest in training and education and worked on the team that developed and taught a one year certificate program in Quality Management of Clinical Laboratories for the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences.

Judy also has an interest in emergency preparedness, which she pursued by using her Masters as an opportunity to conduct a major research project on Toronto’s preparedness for an influenza pandemic. Judy’s practical experience in emergency preparedness includes her work with the Laboratory Working Group, which developed the Ontario Health Pandemic Influenza Plan’s chapter on laboratory services and sitting on the Health Sector Committee for the province’s Critical Infrastructure Assurance Program.

Jo Campbell
Director

I have been a member of CLMA for 10 years. I first joined as a suggestion from my “Director” Kathryn Snell who was a member at that time. I attended an “annual general meeting” and as the saying goes “haven’t looked back since”. Networking was the big draw for me. At that time I was a “Team Leader of a small Lab and was anxious to know who and what was out there. I had come from a bigger hospital and wanted to know the hustle and bustle of the downtown core once again. Shortly after that I was asked to sit on the “membership committee” and help at education functions. I loved that job and in the early 90’s we had lots of education around the OLA requirements so the education days was over flowing. The sessions were excellent and the networking took off as they say. Each session a list of attendees was given out and this provided opportunity for the networking to occur. Presently I am the manager of the two smaller sites at Halton Healthcare Services and “acting manager “for the larger Oakville site. Being a member of CLMA has allowed me to grow and further my own career.
